Nice looking birds them. Is the loft new as it looks spotless? If it is treat is well with ducks back or something like inside and out cause new wood plays hell with the respiritory system of the birds

the glue and treatment gives of fumes that you wont smell but birds will pait inside with emulsion to seal shed

Ducks back is a wax based treatment made by Cuprinol for the shed to seal the timber and is non toxic and odourless, or use emulsion paint as chris suggests to seal the wood as new timber breathes and gives off gasses, you might like the smell of new wood but it plays hell with the birds respitory system being shut in it for long periods. Seasoned timber is fine but either costs a fortune or is unavailable and the stuff these lofts are built with are as fresh as hell, plenty of sap runs from knots etc in the wood and thats a bad sign. My loft is 3 years old now and the sap that has exuded in places has just started to harden and the birds are in much better condition this year than either of the previous 2 years they have been in it. Hope this helps a little anyway
