I have about 40 V perches the plastic type. I also have loads of box perches but I think the birds rather sit on the v perches. I scrap the perches almost every day but at times I do have a day off. The perches get a calcium type of build up on them and I was wondering what is the best stuff to clean them with. I do have a few spare v perches but changing the perches to bleach and scrub them seems a long job especially when there is about 40 to do.
Calcium build up.

Re: Calcium build up.
sprinkle a little fine sand on them after cleaning and this helps to stop the build up

Re: Calcium build up.
I will slowly remove a few at a time giving them a good clean. I will then try the fine sand idea. I could keep a pepper shaker in the loft with fine samd in it...
