    A little worried

Post by Bob on Wed Nov 18, 2009 9:42 pm

After feeding the birds a few days ago I noticed a latebred I had was sat on the floor all huddled up. My heart sank as some may know I had tipplers last year and was wiped out with illness and hawks. The bird had been out flying with the rest of um and had flown for about an hour and had come straight in and fed ok. Yesrterday the bird did his hours exercise fed well and sat on the perch huddled up again, I was thinking of putting the bird down or perhaps seperating it. But thought I would leave it for another day as it was eating and OK and its droppings looked ok. This afternoon after the birds did there exercise I noticed the youngster was sat on his perch but was alert and looking well. Thank God for that.

I could put him in one of the nestboxes but I have so many birds that I have no compartments free anymore. Think I will have to build a small loft just to keep quarentee birds in.

I have large nestboxes so he can live in a nestbox for a few days. But whatever he had he seems to be over it now, so don't want to stress him too much.
