Been a very slow day here too Sue and Pete.
East Anglian Fed libbed at 10.00 165 miles from Salisbury early arrivals I know of are about 3.30pm,
and Norfolk and Suffolk fed also libbed at 10.00 92 miles from Tilbury and my son isn't in until 12.23
Sky has been very hazy all day, no cloud and very little wind.

Keep your chin up, they will come through

Very well done to clock in with such low returns. Hopefully you'll get the whole team back in the next few days. Be proud of yourself and your birds for taking it on.

:sulk: that's a sickener. Seems there were thousands of birds adrift all over the country yesterday. Probably due to birds getting up above the haze and going miles past or not getting away from the race points. It wasn't just birds over the water as there were bad returns on inland races up and down the country as well

Hope you both get more back hun. Was it Falaise they went to? as thats a bad race point as the birds only get 40 to 50 miles before they hit the water and many stop when they hit it.
I never got 37773 back, feckin hawks

I would say from looking on the map that Lessay is probably a worse liberation site than Falaise, as it is only 5 miles west, 15 miles East and 25 miles North to the Channel, so if there was sea mist the poor youngsters had nowhere to go. The channel forcast for last Saturday for the channel was hazy. Draw your own conclusions. I would say the vast majority of birds probably flew up and down the French coast all day trying to find a way across. :thumbs down: Not good :Not a chance:

Sorry you have experienced such a race but have to say welcome to an ever growing club! Pigeon racing has in the opinions of many people, with far greater experience of the game than me, just gone through the toughest year ever known! Our club (strongest in our Fed) has not had birds to send to the last 4 races due to heavy losses and this is just one of many clubs up and down the country, so you have done well to have as many birds there as you have! All we can all do is hope this is a freek year and next year is a great improvement on this one.

yes the racing is terribly hard for some, it must be the amount of hawks scattering them, as the latter races, they birds had the Sky's to themself so no clashes just hungry peregrines
