i let my birds out yesterday as normal just around the house and 3 more dissapeared. so now im down to 10 birds so im thinking of giving up. i aint got a job so i cant replace them. im pretty sure it not bop related. chris if i do decide to give up i will send the clock back that you kindly gave me.i will let you know by the end of today what im going to do.

Sad news indeed Mike. If you are convinced it is not a BOP problem, do you have any idea what other factors may be the cause of your losses. i.e. shooting, fielding, or perhaps there may be something spooking the birds in the loft, like cats or the like. Try keeping your birds in for a few weeks, (it wont do them any harm, especially at this time of the year when they are moulting) be vigilant and watch to see if there are any factors that are disturbing the birds around the loft. If your birds are happy in their own environment, then, generally speaking, for birds to keep disappearing on a regular basis, and not returning, they must be being killed by some means.
It is never easy, especially when you are just building up a team, but keep your chin up and eyes and ears open and eventually you will find the root cause of the problem. Good luck, I hope you decide to stay in the hobby. Bob

mike birds that you bred are often likely to bugger off with others and if yesterday mate there were races on?????? hang in there mate and even if you do give up the clock was given to you so its youers not mine but i can give you some stock for next year as well

dont give up mike i know its gut wrenching when your birds go epecially when you put so much effort into them,
just think what will you do on a saturday if you give up, hang in there it will all come right

dont give up mike i finished the season with 8 young birds but if it equates to 4 pair ive got them 8 back in one round off them ,youll jack it and then want them back ,you can pair them up in 3 mths so not a million years away.....pete
