I have noticed over the last few years with the internet pigeons auctioned and the final bid been the opening bid in the sale room ,
surly this cannot be right. :it's all good:

Yes it is right and just another way of pushing up the price. Do as I do and steer clear of such affairs!

I agree 100% and most of the birds that reach these inflated prices are dustbin jobs JMHO

if you become an auctioneer you can sell as much crap as you like and never give to support any charitys or indeed pay commision like everyone else you can even get free advertiseing so the rubbish you sell is bought and at the end of the day after thousands birds sold you get one or two winners reported youer the main man  :Very Funny: :Very Funny:

surly these types of auctions could be open to abuse.attending some sales makes you wonder are they just taking the genuine buyer for mugs, who seem happy to part with there cash .

Thats the way I see it, its just set to push the price up in the auction room, so any pre-auction bid is only worth it to the seller and auctioneer and not to any prospective buyer thats for sure as they dont run concurently
