She has not got flees
There is no red mit around her nest box. Of a night.
she keeped dancing best part of all day
She had not been out to pick any thing up.
She did it for one day only.
She is fine now.

heres one rene,

what corn and how much do members feed their youngbirds...........? ive got mine on vanroebys best all round with golden boost in the morning, 1 oz per bird roughly but i watch how they are eating and when roughly 1/3rd of them go to the drinker i remove the corn trays.

Had 2 strays in last week and phoned the owner of the wing stamp. Both birds belonged to him and he collected them within the hour. I did toss the birds but they refused to fly off and after a good fly round dropped back in as if they had always been living there. He only lives about 2 miles away and had sent his birds training about 30 miles away. These two birds must have joined my birds while mine were roaming. How far to train youngbirds?

I have been taking my youngbirds traing for about a month. Started at 5 miles then 10,then 20,then 30 then 55 which is about the place of the first youngbird race. All birds beating me home. I then took them 80 miles to the second race point but when I got home none were back. it was 3hrs before the first came home and the rest that came back one at a time. I got 14 of the 31 birds I sent back. Should I send the birds ferther or rest them for the first race in 10 days?

Had a young bird return from training (55 miles) a day late Friday. From just below the beak she had a sliver of skin hanging 1/4” thick and about 3” long. Lots of blood as the sliver swung about her neck and head while she returned home. As she drank the water fell from her crop. She had a hole about the size of 1p in her crop and was slit from crop to beak. I popped along to the shop and bought a tube of super glue. The dragon held the bird and I cut the sliver of skin and removed it. ...

when do you start training your YBs? (ie) once they have been ranging for a week or so or wait till just a few weeks beforw racing begins mines been range well for the last two weeks or so now so ive started to island train up to about 9 mile then its time for them to cross the water 1st its 3 1/2 mile then 21 mile going to be interesting this year for them

Youngbird team have been flying very well. But had Percy grab a young chocolate hen right out the middle of the pack. Luckily the hawk only got the tail feathers but all birds scattered and returned in one's and two's on the night 6 were lost. The chocolate hen came back the next day and half her tail was missing but no other marks on her. The other 5 birds have been slowly returning. One was reported in Barry. a stupid question may be but has any one ever been able to tell how fit thier bird is going by the tail feathers i was chatin to an old guy that said wen he used to race years ago he would look at the tail feathers and look at the white of the end feathers if the white edge was nearly to the top of the tail he conciderd the bird to be very fit and in top form
